Abstract

A compendium look at how to combine scanning, OCR, translation memory, speech recognition and mobile technologies in the modern translator's "office." I will take a look at workflow scenarios and the pros and cons of incorporating various technologies. Along the way I will touch on computers and other software as well as backup equipment and other essential and nonessential equipment, what we should keep and what we can shed. There will be a worksheet and ample discussion time.
