Abstract

Ever been translating a document and found an unfamiliar word that isn’t in the dictionary?  Googling may help you understand the meaning, but you’re still not quite sure how best to render it in English?  

This workshop aims to answer some of your questions, and give you new perspectives and ideas that may help improve your translation quality and productivity.

We will discuss a number of tricky Japanese to English translation terms selected by the speaker and debate possible renderings.  The session will provide you with the opportunity to share insights and perhaps be inspired by the creative leaps that others take.
