About the Speaker

After studying Japanese somewhat sporadically at University of Toronto and graduating from the JET Programme, Lisa Hew started working in corporate Japan for a domestic fashion conglomerate. During her three-year stint as a fashion victim, Lisa learned to appreciate the “back-office” of the fashion industry including licensing, trademark protection, as well as the other fun and interesting issues related to fashion. Since 2003, Lisa has been working as an in-house legal translator for TMI Associates, a top-level intellectual property firm.
