Daniel MacLeith: Finishing up first year as a J-E translator working mostly on business documents, contracts, and tourism websites. Spent three years as the Japan Area Scout for the Chicago Cubs Major League Baseball team and continues to do consulting and other projects for MLB scouts in Japan. Rintaro SANO / 佐野林太郎: つい先日アルカス音楽祭という市民音楽祭でピアノカルテットと組んで「原語でうたうシャンソンの夕べ～SANO chante des chanons originaux～」というプログラムを催しました。出来と評判はたいへんによかったのですが、録音係が間抜けで後半の曲目だけしか録れておらず、ショックのあまり寝込みそうです。

James Smyth: My hometown is Carmel, Indiana, USA. My state's local products are corn, soybeans, medication, and Japanese automobiles. My town's local products are usually printed on letterhead. I graduated from Duke University in 2008 with a Philosophy major and Math and Spanish minors. I studied abroad in Madrid, and I learned Japanese during my two years teaching in rural Kumamoto through the JET Program. Next fall, I'll finish JET and move to Taipei to continue my Mandarin studies, which I started in college. I love writing, and I plan to use my four languages and experiences abroad in my future works. I am not a professional translator, but if I were my specialties would be the Catholic Church, the Western literary canon, American politics and sports, and 1990's video games.

Bonnie Waycott: I've been working as a freelance translator and narrator for 4 years. My main job is narration, but I'm looking for a way into the world of freelance translating! I have a part time position as an in-house translator and work freelance in areas such as advertising, media and narration scripts. I have a very keen interest in marine conservation, fish imports/exports, sustainable fishing..and ideally would like to translate in those areas. Am looking forward to my first IJET conference, and meeting you all!
