Session 1: Tools for Translators

Speaker: Akira Takahashi (JAT member, IJET-25 Organizing Committee member)

What comes to mind when you hear “tools for translators”? Are you making effective use of the tools available to you?

Akira Takahashi, otherwise known as “Boshiya-san”, will discuss ways to ensure you remain firmly in the driving seat, without letting tools anywhere near the steering wheel.

Session 2: Panel Discussion: The Translation Industry in the Chukyo Region

Panelists: Jeff Chapman, Stuart Ayre, Tomoyo Ikeda, Kanna Nakazawa

During this panel discussion, a number of Nagoya-based translators will discuss issues peculiar to the region and answer the burning question: “is Toyota the main source of work for Chukyo-based translators?” The discussion will cover changes in the market in recent years and the future outlook for the region. We would like to encourage Chukyo-based translators to join the discussion, exchange information, share any survival strategies, and consider the future of Chukyo as a place for translators to live and work!
