Mine your term to be the best. How to improve translation quality with term extract and text mining
Translation technology is improving day by day since computer-aided translation tools (CAT tools) were introduced to the industry. During this 60-min session, I would like to highlight general terminology management functions on popular CAT tools. Also I would like to talk about agency expectations regarding terminology choice and management. I will review the terminology functions on three main industry tools and discuss how these functions relate to terminology and translation quality. In particular, I will focus on the term extraction function. I will also outline some of the challenges and pitfalls, that translators and reviewers should be aware of. Finally, I will present specific term extraction/management tools and text mining tools which can be used free of charge and how-to use them in a translation project. Finally, I will highlight a variety of QA tools that will help make your terminology stand out from others.
