Gwen Clayton

Gwen Clayton is an expert legal translator with more than 10 years’ experience translating legal and business documents from Japanese (and German) into English. Prior to moving into translation, Gwen worked as a commercial law solicitor for many years in the UK, Japan and Switzerland, often as part of a bi- or trilingual team, and it is this experience that gave her the extensive legal knowledge that she now applies to her translation. As a translator, she specialises in translating complex legal agreements and correspondence files for litigation proceedings, as well as carrying out legal research and translating and editing academic papers. In recent years, she has provided training on Japanese legal translation for eCPD Webinars and is currently the Japanese tutor for the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (English law pathway) for the London Metropolitan University.
