Write It Yourself: Experience Academic Publication by Writing Mock Papers
Publishing academic articles is a desirable experience for those who engage in technical translation. Having said that, don't worry if you lack such experience. There is no restriction on training your writing skills pretending to write for academic journals. You only need some subjects you are interested in and want to share with other people. Then you can write about them in the format of academic articles. This presentation aims to show you steps of practice in academic writing: selection of subject matter; collection of materials; and actual writing of mock papers. The example I use will be the history of the world's earliest documented cases of surgery under anesthesia.
