Naoko Uchida

Naoko Uchida has an MA in Translation and Interpretation from the Monterey Inst i tute of International Studies in California. She is an ATA-certified translator with more than fifteen years of experience as an in-house and freelance translator. Now based in Vancouver, Canada, she offers translation, QA, and consulting services to various industry clients in the US, Canada, and Japan. Her recent research article, "Observations on the Tendency to Lose Context When Using Translation Memory Tools" ( 翻訳メモリツールの使用時に訳文の文脈対応が 失われていく傾向についての考察) (Interpreting and Translation Studies, No. 9, 2009), and ATA presentation, "Managing Redundant Translations in TRADOS Translation Memory" (2005), both deal with the subject of computerassisted translation tools and translation quality.
