Raoul Breugelmans

Raoul Breugelmans received a double-major BA in Linguistics and Japanese from the University of Oregon in 1987, and then completed the Master and Doctoral courses in Japanese Linguistics at Meiji University in Tokyo.

After working as a freelance medical translator and lecturing part-time in Medical English, he became Assistant Professor in 2002, and is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Education of Tokyo Medical University.

He serves as Councilor of the Japan Society for Medical English Education, Councilor of the Japan Society for Medical Education, and Director of the Japanese Society of Travel Medicine.

He has assisted numerous Japanese clinicians in publishing their research in international literature.

His academic interests include ICT-enhanced education, applied linguistics and medical education.
