Richard Medhurst

Richard Medhurst is a translator and editor at the news and culture website Nippon.com. He first lived in Japan from 2002–2005, working as an English teacher in Chiba Prefecture and Tokyo. After some years away, he returned to Toyama Prefecture in 2008, where he was Coordinator for International Relations at Imizu City Hall for five years. In 2013, he started working as a full-time translator at an IR company in Tokyo. In 2014, he joined Nippon.com. He won the 8th Annual JAT Contest for New and Aspiring Translators.
