Lucy Takato

Bachelor of Asian Studies/ Bachelor of Commerce from the Australian National University (2000). I started my career in management consulting followed by program management at an international relations think tank. In 2007, I gained NAATI (Australia) certification as a Japanese-English translator, and started working as a freelance translator in late 2009. Since then I have been working primarily with food and beverage related clients on translations of various marketing materials. My other clients include an animation production company and a lifestyle design company. I also perform translations of official documents such as koseki and birth certificates. I have lived in Japan for a total of 11 years, have 5 years of experience as a professional translator and have been a JAT member since 2013. I have three small children so enjoy the flexibility of working from home.
