Sally Young

Sally Young is the Head of the Asian Languages Section within the Patent Cooperation Treaty Translation Service at WIPO. Originally from the UK, Sally spent eight years living and working in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, before moving to Monterey, California to complete her MA in Translation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. Sally was recruited by WIPO in 1999 as a Japanese translator specializing in patent documentation before becoming head of the Asian Languages Section in 2010.  She now manages the translation of Chinese Japanese and Korean documents for the PCT, overseeing the translation of approximately 240,000 documents per year.
