Julia Maurus

Julia Maurus is an accredited editor and professional member of the Institute of Professional Editors, Australia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a Bachelor of Arts (Media & Communications) and a Master of Laws. She is a practising lawyer based in Cairns who engages daily with Torres Strait Islander people, for whom English is often a second or third language. Her love of editing grew from a passion for writing and languages. She has studied in Germany as an exchange student and volunteered in Samoa as a government communications officer. Julia is experienced in writing and editing government documents and general communications such as newsletters, websites and media releases. Her writing has appeared in several publications, most recently the Australian Indigenous Law Review (2017).
