Researching the recovery in disaster-hit Miyagi—working with translators and interpreters as a writ

This presentation provides a non-fiction writer’s perspective of working with interpreters and translators. The presenter, Pepi Ronalds, is currently researching a book about rebuilding and recovery in Miyagi since the Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011. She will share some tales from her research while describing the specific needs of non-fiction writers working with a foreign language. She’ll outline some of the challenges and provide a few solutions to ensuring the best writer/interpreter/translator outcomes.
