Gwen Clayton (IJET-27)

Gwen is a Japanese legal translator. After graduating in Japanese Studies from Oxford University, with a year at Waseda University, she studied law and trained as a solicitor. She worked as a general commercial lawyer in London, Tokyo, Bristol and Zurich for the next 8 years. While working in Tokyo she was seconded to the legal department of Itochu Corporation for one year, where she drafted, negotiated and advised on commercial contracts in English and Japanese. Seven years ago, Gwen turned to legal translation, which is now her main focus. She is a regular presenter for eCPD webinars.
