Rick Weisburd

Rick Weisburd earned his B.S. in biology in New York and PhD in oceanography in Hawaii. He moved to Japan in 1990 and did post-doctoral research for 6 years at the National Institute for Environmental Studies. After 9 years teaching biology at the University of Tsukuba (associate professor), in 2006 he resigned from the university to run full time his scientific editing and translation company ELSS (http://www.elss.co.jp).  Rick has taught research communication at various research institutions every year since 1996. From 2011 to 2017 he served as Councilor for Certification Exam Development for the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences.
