William Lise

Originally from the US, William Lise is a Tokyo-based translator and interpreter, resident in Japan for more than four decades and specializing in patent/industrial translation and litigation interpreting. He came to translation from industry almost four decades ago, having worked in fiber optics research in the US and then as the Japan branch manager of a US electronic measuring instrument manufacturer. Being an electrical engineer in his previous life, his strengths lie in that area. He runs a small translation company, which provides translation and interpreting services to Japanese manufacturers and to Japanese and overseas law firms.
