Helen Iwata

Helen’s career includes 20 years as a J>E translator. She joined JAT in 2003, served on multiple committees, and was JAT president from 2009 to 2013.

She’s now president of Sasuga Communications K. K., which she founded to help people create communication habits for success and happiness in global business. Helen provides corporate programs for multiple multinationals, public workshops and coaching at her office in Ginza, and online training.

After translating four books with Shogakukan, she authored and published 英語の仕事術 in April. The book offers tips, activities, and anecdotes on communication skills for the global workplace: listening and questioning, giving presentations, participating in conference calls, facilitating meetings, and dealing with conflict.

Helen was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year in the British Chamber of Commerce’s British Business Awards in both 2014 and 2015.

And she LOVES presenting at IJETs!
