Tom McAuley

Thomas McAuley is a Lecturer in the School of East Asian Studies at the University of Sheffield, where he is co-coordinator of the Japanese language programme and the Japan Year Abroad. His research interests lie in classical Japanese language and literature. He has translated over 3000 classical Japanese poems for the Japan 2001 Waka website and is currently working on a complete translation of the twelfth century Roppyakuban uta’awase (‘Poetry Contest in Six Hundred Rounds’).
