If you work in pharma or biomedical translation, you’ve probably encountered resources such as the Japanese Pharmacopoeia, ICH guidelines, and 日本の薬事行政 (Pharmaceutical Administration and Regulations in Japan) during terminology searches. Maybe you’ve even read a few sections in some of these monstrous documents before getting bored. But they deserve a closer look, for the information they contain can make you a more informed translator able to use terms and style that will please your clients. In this deep dive, we’ll survey important resources relevant to pharma and biomedical translation and then reinforce what we learn in a translation workshop.
