Session

The workshop begins with a brief overview of ATA’s certification process, testing procedures and grading standards. Participants will then divide into two groups and work through a Japanese passage that is similar to the passages used for the actual exams. A grader in the ATA certification program will lead each group and will provide feedback on participants’ translations. For more details about the certification exam, please check the Certification Program page (http://www.atanet.org/certification/index.php) on the ATA website. If you are interested in participating, contact Patricia Pringle at (email address to be provided) before May 10th to receive the Japanese to English passage. So that everyone can gain the maximum benefit from the workshop, we strongly recommend that participants translate the passage in advance and bring their completed translations to the workshop.
