早稲田大学を卒業、IT企業で数年勤務したのちに日本映像翻訳アカデミーで学び、字幕翻訳者としてキャリアをスタート。西崎憲先生の小説翻訳講座に通い、ゲームノベライズやロマンス小説の翻訳（深山ちひろ名義）を始める。字幕と小説の両分野を経験したことから、脚本翻訳の依頼も受けるように。脚本翻訳の主な担当作品は『SHOGUN』『PACHINKO』。
