Susan Jones

Susan E. Jones is a veteran J to E translator, having worked in the profession for over 25 years in the areas of media, PR, sales materials, script and subtitle translation. Recently, she has developed a special focus on the translation of children’s literature and serves as Translator Coordinator for SCBWI Japan (Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators) and as a steering committee member of SWET (Society of Writers, Editors, and Translators).

Susan is also an associate professor in the Department of English at Kobe College where she teaches translation to undergraduate and graduate students. In that capacity, she has presented on machine translation and AI in a variety of settings including academic conferences in Japan and Taiwan.
