Most north–south tram routes run along Swanston Street (routes 1, 3, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72).
If you are using Elizabeth Street routes (19, 57, 59), get off at Melbourne Central Station/Elizabeth St and walk one block (approx. 5 minutes) to Swanston Street.
If you are travelling east–west along Flinders Street (routes 70, 75), Collins Street (routes 11, 12, 48, 109), or Bourke Street (routes 86, 96), change trams at Swanston Street to a northbound service (towards Melbourne University).
