Adding value to your practice: Building medical writing skills as a translator
The translation landscape is shifting rapidly. For Japanese-to-English medical and pharma translators, the rise of artificial intelligence is making it more important than ever to diversify and differentiate. One compelling pathway is medical writing, a field that demands many of the skills that they have already developed. The session will cover the core competencies medical writers need, the document types most accessible to translators entering the field, and concrete steps for building credentials and finding work. It will also address a question many translators are asking right now: in a market increasingly influenced by AI, what skills remain distinctly human and how do we make those skills visible and marketable?
