Located directly opposite the conference venue, Storey Hall, The Oxford Scholar is a historic Melbourne pub. It was recently recognised with a People’s Choice Award at the Hotel Excellence Awards, reflecting its popularity as a welcoming gathering place.

Zenyasai highlight

The Zenyasai will include a short online guest presentation by Derek Baines, Regional General Manager – Japan and Korea, Tourism Australia, who will join live from Tokyo.

Language professionals and international marketing: The Tourism Australia perspective

Participants will be invited to take their seats with a drink before the session begins. The session will consist of a 30-minute talk followed by a 15-minute Q&A.

Derek's presentation will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how Tourism Australia develops and adapts marketing campaigns across multiple languages and markets, drawing on practical examples from Japan and elsewhere in Asia. The session will examine the role of language professionals in international tourism marketing and how human expertise and AI are being used together in Tourism Australia's language workflows.

Tickets

Attendance at the Zenyasai requires the purchase of a ticket.

Tickets are priced at A$40 per person. As the venue operates on a minimum spend basis, the ticket price contributes towards the cost of holding the event and includes a choice of:

two alcoholic drinks; or

three non-alcoholic drinks; or

one alcoholic drink and two non-alcoholic drinks.

Participants may choose their preferred option on arrival.

Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
